The Guitarist
A video made in 2000 by Mark Harris and Peter Lloyd Lewis for Song Poems, an exhibition curated by Stephen Hull for Cohan, Leslie & Browne, New York. One group of artists provided the lyrics (in our case Lynn Tillman and Michael Smith), another group made the music, a third made the music videos, and a fourth group designed the posters for the songs. The London band Dirty Snow, of Marc Hulson and Esther Planas, provide the music here although only Martin Tomlinson is seen on screen. An aspiring actor at the time, Tomlinson was their surrogate guitarist for the day and later went on to form London band Selfish Cunt.
