Hog Farm

Commune drawing (Hog Farm), 2010, pencil on paper, 24″x30″

Hog Farm started in the San Fernando Valley under Hugh Romney (Wavy Gravy) who had once travelled with Ken Kesey’s Merry Pranksters. They launched their own bus tour in the late 60s, traveling in large convoys of decorated vehicles and facilitating free concerts across the country in temporarily erected structures. They provided alternative security at the Woodstock Festival in 1969.
