Kosuth-Dead Kennedys installation

I proposed a collaborative project to Joseph Kosuth that involved the justaposition of the Dead Kennedys’ 12″ single Holiday in Cambodia with his One and Three Chairs. Kosuth proposed making a new work comprising a photograph of the original One and Three Chairs, printed to scale, that would be glazed and framed and would sit alongside the record. The work was first shown in Host at Tramway, Glasgow, and then in Get Together, at the Kunsthalle, Vienna. The images of the collaboration are shown here, along with correspondence between myself and Kosuth. The collaboration focused on uses of a folding chair that were not encompassed by Kosuth’s original series of works.
